A parent or legal guardian must remain at the facility with the child until they are discharged home. The surgical consent must be signed by the child’s parent or legal guardian.
– If you are a legal guardian please bring your guardianship papers for the chart.
– Young children and infants can only be discharged if properly restrained in safety car seats due to California State law.
– You may bring a toy, blanket, or pacifier if you think it will make your child feel more comfortable. Please bring diapers and bottles for postoperative care. Your preoperative nurse will give you instructions regarding eating and drinking restrictions prior to surgery for your child.
